Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be central to the future of engineering, said Krishna Prasad Chitrapura, RIT Distinguished Alumnus and Chief Scientist at Cuspera Inc., during a farewell event for final-year students at Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), on Friday.

Mr. Chitrapura emphasised that engineers who integrate domain knowledge with AI tools will lead future innovations. “Programming is now a foundational skill, and AI is redefining how we work across disciplines,” he noted.

He highlighted that AI is rapidly advancing in fields such as medicine, biology, and mathematics, and urged students to use their skills in service of national progress.

He also underlined the importance of discipline and time management, noting that talent alone is not enough.

Chairman of Gokula Education Foundation, M.R. Seetharam, stressed the ethical use of AI and the need to address rising cybercrime. He announced the introduction of a new cybersecurity course to prepare students for emerging digital threats.

Other dignitaries from RIT and Gokula Education Foundation were also present at the event.
