Inappropriate songs in school vans
In some school vans, loud and inappropriate cinema songs are played. These songs lack educational or moral value and can have an undesirable influence on young minds. The journey to and from school should be a time for calm reflection or gentle stimulation that fosters positive values.
I urge school managements to take cognisance of this matter and issue clear instructions to van drivers and contractors. Instead of cinema songs, the vehicles can play songs and audio content that instil patriotism, sportsmanship, social responsibility, and moral values – thereby nurturing children into trustworthy and principled citizens.

Dumping of garbage
In several areas of Tirunagar, garbage is still being dumped on the roadsides by residents. The habit of throwing waste outside the bins creates unhygienic conditions and health risks.
Residents must cooperate by disposing of garbage only in designated bins. Additionally, a number of streets in Tirunagar still lacks proper street lighting. This poses a serious problem for pedestrians and commuters at night with stray dog menace in some dark stretches. In certain areas, even the existing street lights are dim and ineffective.
I request the authorities concerned install or repair street lights where needed and to conduct regular maintenance.

Improper roads
Some of the roads in Ward 32 are being relaid, while patchwork repairs are being carried out in other areas. In Chinna Chokkikulam area, the newly constructed road is approximately 4 metres wide, whereas the original road is around 6 metres wide.
There is a gap between the old one and the new road and it has already started peeling off on one side. Furthermore, the new pipeline installed in the houses has been damaged due to the construction of the new road. What is the reason for the rush to complete this work?
R. Jawaher,
