Inaugurating a new ₹1.75 crore building at the Tribal Welfare Girls’ Ashram School premises in Pachipenta, Sandhya Rani wanted road construction prioritised to tribal villages, whose people depend on “doli” for transporting their ill and infirm to hospitals.
She pointed out that a substantial ₹2,500 crore have been allocated for developing 2,000 roads in tribal villages within Andhra Pradesh, particularly those on hilltops and in interior areas. “Efforts are being made to improve road infrastructure in such villages, which will greatly benefit residents,” she underlined.
Kumari, a Class 10 student of Pachipenta girls’ ashram school, appreciated the minister for visiting their school. She underlined that there are 370 students in the school but toilet facilities are inadequate. The minister immediately instructed the executive engineer of the Tribal Welfare department to immediately prepare estimates for construction of additional toilets.
At the event, students put up performances, including Dhimsa dance, pyramid and asanas. The minister too participated in the Dhimsa dance.
