Annamayya District Collector Sridhar Chamakuri on Sunday relaunched the monthly ration distribution programme through 1,123 fair price shops across the district. The relaunch follows the State government’s decision to deliver essential supplies to the beneficiaries efficiently ensuring transparency and accessibility. However, the provision of door delivery to senior citizens and individuals with disabilities would continue.
Commencing the distribution of ration at fair price shops in Chennamukkapalli and Reddypalle near here, the Collector handed over ration supplies to beneficiaries and later visited households to supervise door delivery to the target groups.
“Annamayya district has 4,97,969 ration cards, which cover 14.82 lakh beneficiaries. Of these, 53,707 cardholders are senior citizens, with over 69,000 individuals eligible for home delivery,” the Collector said.
Mr. Chamakuri said that the supplies include free rice and jowar. While the sugar is priced at ₹17 per half kg for white card holders, it is ₹13.50 per kg for Antyodaya card holders. He informed the cardholders to compulsorily insist on receipts for transparency.
Revenue Divisional Officer (Rayachoti) B. Srinivas, District Civil Supplies Officer Raghuram, and others were present.
