17 IPS, 96 J&K Police Service officers transferred in major shake-up | India News

The Jammu and Kashmir Government in a major reshuffle Thursday night transferred 17 Indian Police Service and 96 Jammu and Kashmir Police Service officers across the Union Territory. The move affects everything from field level postings to special security and the forensic divisions of the police across the Union Territory.

Although over three dozen IPS and JKPS cadre police officers were transferred by the government in last November, this has been the first major reshuffle in the UT Police after Nalin Prabhat assumed charge as J&K’s Director General of Police last October,

Uttam Chand, a 2002 batch IPS officer awaiting orders of posting has been posted as IGP (Police Operations and Services) at the Police Headquarters against an available vacancy. Sarah Rizvi, DIG IR Jammu, has been posted as DI Udhampur-Reasi range in place of Rayees Mohammad Bhat who has been transferred and posted as DIG CID Kashmir against an available vacancy.

Sheikh Junaid Mehmood and Umesh Kumar, have been posted as DIG IR Kashmir and DIG Training at PHQ, respectively, against available vacancies.

Meanwhile, Raghav S. has been posted as SP Tech CID Headquarters vice Amritpal Singh who has been posted as SSP Anantnag vice G V Sundeep Chakravarthy. Chakravarthy has been posted as SSP Srinagar.

J S Johar has been posted as in-charge Director Police Telecommunication, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav as SO to IGP Technical Services and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat as SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Ranjit Singh Sambyal as Principal Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur, Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria as Commandant Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police 1st Border Battalion, Divya D has been posted as SP State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir while Tanushree is being moved to SIA Headquarters, Kashmir. Bisma Qazi has been made Commandant JKAP’s Second Women Battalion while Hareesh HP is now AIG (Welfare), Police Headquarters.

Meanwhile, among the 96 JKPS officers transferred by the government, Suhail Munawar Mir has been posted as commissioner, Civil Military Liaison, Ramesh Kumar Angral as the director of Kashmir home guards, Mohammad Arshad as the director of Home Guards, Jammu, Tahir Sajad Bhat as Additional Director SIA, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir as director, Civil Defence & SDRF, Kashmir, and Mohammad Arif rishu as Principal State Training Centre (STC), Talwara.

Also among the transfers are Abdul Waheed Shahhas, who’s been posted as SSP Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar, Shamsher Hussain as SO to IGP Jammu Zone, Ashok Kumar Sharma as Commandant 4th (Security) Battalion JKAP, Atul Sharma as Commandant 19th Battalion IR,
