A 17-year-old boy was electrocuted in his house in Peravallur on Tuesday night.  

A senior official of the City Police said Gautham Pal, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was residing with his family in GKM Colony of Peravallur. His 17–year-old son Ajay Pal, who had written his Plus 2 public exams at a private school in Agaram, had last night gone to the toilet which was outside the house and when he turned on the toilet light switch he was electrocuted. He suffered electric shock due to the leak from the faulty switch.  

Hearing his cry, Gautham Pal came out and found Ajay Pal lying breathless. The boy on being taken to the Government Periyar Nagar Hospital was pronounced brought dead.

The Peravallur police on being alerted sent the body of the victim to Kilpauk Government Hospital for postmortem.
