216 companies to participate in mega job fair in Kalaburagi

Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Sharan Prakash Patil appealed to youths of the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka region to make use of the mega job fair being organised in Kalaburagi city on April 16.

Addressing the media persons after inspecting the venue of the job fair at KCT Engineering College campus in the city on Monday, Mr. Patil said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge would attend the event.

“So far, 216 companies and human resource agencies from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai have registered to participate in the job fair; till date, 6,000 job-seekers have registered, and we are expecting around 15,000 registrations,” Mr. Patil added.

A total of 2.80 lakh graduates have enrolled in Yuva Nidhi scheme across the state, of which the eligible 1.75 lakh unemployed graduates and diploma holders were receiving financial aid of ₹3,000 and ₹1,500 per month respectively. Around 73,000 unemployed youths from the Kalyana Karnataka region have been informed to register for the mega job fair through https://skillconnect.kaushalkar.com.

On April 16, Mr. Siddaramaiah and Mr. Kharge would inaugurate Super Specialty Hospital which was built at a cost of Rs 116 crore, and also inaugurates the advanced Brachytherapy services installed at VTSM peripheral Cancer Centre of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Kalaburagi.

The leaders would also lay foundation stone for various developmental projects including a 210-bed extension building of the VTSM peripheral Cancer Centre established by Kidwai Hospital estimated at ₹76 crore; and the Mother and Child Hospital and Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health each estimated to ₹92 crore; a building of Government Tools and Training Centre at a cost of ₹53 crore, Government ITI College building at a cost of ₹21 Crore, and a building of Allied Health Science Institute at an estimated cost of ₹50 crore, a Arogya Bhavan and a auditorium at Government Degree College in city, Mr. Patil added.
