A.P. police to impose traffic diversions for PM Modi’s tour on May 2

The police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Andhra Pradesh on May 2. The restrictions will be in force from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 2.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Chennai to Visakhapatnam will be diverted via Vijayawada, Ibrahimpatnam, Nandigama, Throvagunta, Chirala, Bapatla, Repalle, Avanigadda, Pamarru and Hanuman Junction.

Vehicles proceeding towards Visakhapatnam will be diverted via Chilakaluripet, Pedanandipadu, Kakumanu, Ponnur, Chandolu, Cherukupalli, Battiprolu, Penumadi bridge, Avanigadda, Pamarru, Gudivada and Hanuman Junction.

Vehicles proceeding towards Visakhapatnam from Chennai should travel via Boyapalem cross road, Unnava, A.B. Palem, Valluru, Pandrapadu, Ponnur, Chandolu, Cherukupalli, Battiprolu, Avanigadda, Pamarru, Gudivada and Hanuman Junction and reach Visakhapatnam, said a release issued from the DGP office.

Heavy vehicles going towards Visakhapatnam from Guntur shall proceed towards Budampadu, Tenali, Vemuru, Kolluru, Vellaturu Junction, Penumudi bridge, Avanigadda, Gudivada and Hanuman Junction.

All the heavy vehicles travelling from Gannavaram to Hyderabad should travel via Agiripalli, Shobhanapuram, Ganapavaram, Mylavaram, G. Konduru and Ibrahimpatnam.

Multi-axle goods vehicles proceeding from Chennai to Visakhapatnam will be stopped on the National Highway at Ongole, Chilakaluripet and Nellore.

Similarly, multi-axle vehicles coming from Visakhapatnam to Chennai will be halted at Hanuman Junction and Pottipadu tollgate. The vehicles will be allowed at 9 p.m. on May 2, the police said.

Krishna district Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao has said that traffic diversions will be made in Kakinada, Prakasam, Guntur, East Godavari, Eluru and NTR districts to avoid congestions.
