Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has, on moral grounds, decided that he will not attend the proceedings of the House until the no-confidence motion notice is not resolved.

He has decided that he will not occupy the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chair until the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition is taken up and resolved.
The move came after the Congress submitted a notice of a no-confidence motion against Om Birla earlier in the day.
The Speaker has asked the Lok Sabha Secretary-General to examine the no-confidence notice and take appropriate action.
