Chennai:BJP State president Nainar Nagenthiran announced the expulsion of the party’s State general secretary M Muruganantham from the organization on Friday and relieved him from all responsibilities with immediate effect for allegedly bringing a bad name to the party.

It is learnt that a woman functionary of the party had filed a complaint against Muruganantham, known in party circles as ‘Karuppu’ Muruganantham, with the BJP national president Nitin Nabin and other top leaders, including Nagenthiran, accusing him of ‘cheating’ her after being in a relationship with her.

She had sought an enquiry against the State leader based on her charges of physical abuse, intimidation and coercion and wanted appropriate action to be taken against him. The woman functionary claimed that she had electronic evidence to prove her charges against him.
