VISAKHAPATNAM: Anakapalli MP and Railway Standing Committee chairman C.M. Ramesh on Monday inaugurated 11 state-of-the-art smart classrooms across the district.
The digital learning facilities, established at a cost of ₹50 lakh through ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, were formally launched at the Zilla Parishad Girls’ High School and the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) School in Tegada.
Speaking to students at the inauguration ceremony, Ramesh emphasised that education remains the top priority for Anakapalli district’s development. He explained that youth can leverage technology through these digital platforms to accelerate their learning processes and develop crucial skills for the modern economy.
The inauguration also provided a platform for local educators to voice their requirements. Kasimkota High School headmaster Swarna Kumari presented several facility requests to the MP, including establishment of a dining hall and water treatment plant and extension of educational services to the Intermediate for girls currently studying at the high school.
Responding to the requests, Ramesh assured that action would be taken on the headmaster’s suggestions. He directed officials to prepare cost estimates for the proposed dining hall and confirmed that steps would be initiated to extend educational services up to the Intermediate level.
The MP emphasised that both the Central and state governments were committed to ensuring equal educational opportunities for every girl child. This commitment aligns with the national initiatives aimed at closing gender gaps in education and empowering women through learning.
