Five persons, including four history-sheeters, were arrested for assaulting a man and snatching his mobile phone in Neelankarai.

Police said the complainant, Ajaykumar, 22, works as a driver. On Sunday, while he was walking near Palavakkam Periyar Salai signal, he was approached by the accused, who allegedly demanded money. When Ajaykumar told them that he did not have money, three of the accused reportedly brandished knives and snatched his mobile phone. They also threatened to kill him before fleeing the scene. Based on Ajaykumar’s complaint, police arrested Aravind, 25, Pradeep Kumar, 24, and three others.
