Gold price today: Gold prices remain flat around Rs 76,650/ 10 g, silver at Rs 97,260/kg

The prices of the yellow metal held steady on Saturday, March 8, at Rs 76,650/10 grams, up by 0.10%, while the silver prices were hovering around the Rs 97,260/kg mark at 1:20 pm.

On Friday, gold April futures contracts on MCX closed flat at Rs 85,820/10 grams, down by 0.07% or Rs 57. On the other hand, silver May futures contracts also closed flat but with a positive bias at Rs 97,280. This was up by Rs 79 or 0.08%.

“Gold continues to face strong resistance at $2915-$2,925 in COMEX, while in MCX, 86400 remains a key resistance level, with support at Rs 84,500-Rs 84,000, a minor correction of Rs 400 brought. Today’s US key Economic data, Nonfarm Payrolls, and Unemployment data, volatility is expected to persist. The gold trading range remains between Rs 84,000-Rs 86,500,” said Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst – Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities.
