Arasavalli Temple Ratha Saptami 2026 Ticket Booking Guide: The Ancient Hindu Temple of Sun God “Lord Suryanaryana Swamy Temple” located at Arasavalli in Srikakulam Town, Andhra Pradesh is one of the most unique and visited pilgrimage temples in India. Its original name is Harshavalli, meaning ‘Abode of Joy’.
Around 2 lakh devotees offer special prayers at the temple on Ratha Saptami, which will be celebrated on January 25, 2026. With the increase in devotees every year, the government has provided online darshan bookng services for the auspicious day.
What is the significance
Ratha Saptami is regarded as the birthday of Lord Surya, the Sun God. Near the Arasavalli temple lies Indra Pushkarini, a sacred pond believed to have been created by Lord Indra using his Vajrayudha after receiving blessing from the Sun God. Traditionally, devotees take a holy dip in the Pushkarini before a darshan as it is believed to cleanse the body, and grant good health, relief from ailments and grace of Lord Surya.
What is the Seva Schedule
The Seva schedule for the Ratha Saptami are as follows:
- The Surya Namaskarams will be performed every Sunday morning 6:00 am to 12:00pm.
- The Tiruveedhi Seva will be performed every Sunday evening 6:00pm
- The Ksheeranna Bhogan Seva will be performed every Sunday afternoon 3:00pm
