The Idukki and Cheruthoni dams will be opened for the public during from September 1 to November 30, Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine has said.

The visiting time is from 10 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. Tourist entry to the dams is allowed on all days except Wednesdays. However, entry will not be allowed on days when red and orange alerts for rain are issued.

Tourist entry is permitted only through buggy cars. “The ticket charge has been fixed at ₹150 for adults and ₹100 for children. Mobile phones, cameras, and electronic gadgets are banned on the dam premises,” said an official.

Tourists can enter the dams after securing time slots through online booking (https://www.keralahydeltourism.com/attractions) or by scanning QR code. The entry is allowed only through the Vellappara route on the Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala State Highway. Those who book online tickets should report at the counter 20 minutes before entry.
