Operation Sindoor News LIVE Updates: The all-party meeting called by the Central government kicked off today at the Parliament complex with Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajnath Singh and S Jaishankar briefing the leaders. The meeting comes two days after India launched strikes — dubbed Operation Sindoor — on “terror infrastructure” in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The all-party meeting is being held in the Committee Room: G-074, in Parliament Library Building of the Parliament Complex. It is likely that the aftermath of the strike and India’s next steps will be discussed during the meeting.

Pakistan shelling kills 13 in Kashmir: Incessant shelling by the Pakistani military on Wednesday killed 12 civilians and one Indian Army officer, the same day as Operation Sindoor was carried out. Over 50 people were left injured, including two CRPF jawans. On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked India’s border states to prepare the infrastructure against any likely retaliatory strike sanctioned by Islamabad, after Operation Sindoor.

Mock drills across the country: On Wednesday, over 244 civil defence districts participated in mock drills, including a string of civil defence measures aimed at preparing Indians for an eventuality of hostile action after tensions between India and Pakistan remain heightened. Air raid sirens blared, blackouts were observed, and evacuation and temporary health setups were established. Hundreds of defence personnel were deployed across these districts to ensure that the drills were conducted with precision.
