J&K Pahalgam Attack Today News LIVE Updates: Pakistani troops continued unprovoked small arms firing across multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) for the tenth consecutive night, with Indian Army responding promptly, news agency PTI reported Sunday. Ceasefire violations were reported from eight locations in the Union Territory, including, Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor. No casualties have been reported so far, the officials confirmed.
Intel alert before attack: Meanwhile, a top official, requesting anonymity, has said the government and the security agencies had intel about a possible terror attack targeting tourists in hotels around Srinagar days before the Pahalgam attack. A J&K police personnel has however rebutted the claim, arguing the inputs were not specific and only came to light after the attack, and one “must not read too much” into these.
India bans imports from Pakistan: In a fresh response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India Saturday banned the import and transit of all goods coming from Pakistan, a May 2 notification from the Commerce and Industry Ministry said. This comes after the closure of the Attari Integrated Check Post on April 24, which ended direct trade. India has also suspended all mail and parcel services from Pakistan by air and land.
