U.S. President Donald Trump said ⁠on Wednesday ‌(April 1, 2026) that ‌Iran ‌had ⁠been ⁠decimated and that the hard ‌part of the war ‌is done.

He added ⁠that the ‌United States does not ‌need the Strait of Hormuz. 

“I’m pleased to say ‌that these core strategic ⁠objectives are nearing ‌completion,” Mr. Trump said in ‌a primetime address. – Reuters
