Kathua Cloudburst, Train to Jammu and Kashmir: Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operations of several trains following a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, disrupted services along the Jammu–Pathankot rail line. The train operations in the region is managed by the Jammu Division of Northern Railway (NR).
“Due to heavy rainfall over Jammu Division, several trains have been short-terminated/short-originated. The water level at bridge number 43 is beyond danger mark over Jammu Division,” said Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway in a statement.
Cloudburst in Kathua: Full List of Trains Affected
Short-termination of trains:
- Train No- 22431 Subedarganj – Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan JCO 16.08.25 shall be short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantt.
- Train no- 19803 Kota Jn – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra JCO 16.08.25 has been short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantt.
- Train no- 19225 Bhagat Ki Kothi – Jammutavi JCO-16.08.25 has been short terminated at Pathankot.
- Train No- 12331 Howrah Jn – Jammutavi JCO 15.08.25 has been short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantt.
Short-Origination of train:
- 19224 Jammu Tawi – Sabarmati BG JCO-17.08.25 short originated from Pathankot.
- 22432 Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan – Subedarganj Express JCO 17.08.25 will short-originate from Jalandhar Cantt.
- 19804 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra -Kota Express JCO 17.08.25 will short originate from Jalandhar Cantt.
- 12332 Jammutavi – Howrah Jn Himgri Express JCO 17.08.25 will short-originate from Jalandhar Cantt.
Kathua Cloudburst News
The cloudburst hit Jod Ghati village of Rajbagh during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, snapping access to the village and causing damage to land and property. The cloudburst in Kathua came three days after flash floods triggered by cloudburst struck Chisoti village in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 14.
