Chennai: DMK women’s wing leader and Member of Parliament from Thoothukudi, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take responsibility for the communal violence that rocked the state of Manipur for two years.
In the context of the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh putting in his papers after a revolt by BJP MLAs, Kanimozhi said that demand for the resignation of the top BJP leaders had been placed by many leaders since the riots broke out but none of them heed to it.
Now that the Chief Minister had gone, Modi and Shah should take responsibility, she said.
