A 40-year-old officer with the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) was found dead at his house in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits on Monday.

The deceased is Amruth Shiroor, an officer in KSDL’s purchase department. Based on a complaint by Shiroor’s landlord, the Mahalakshmi Layout police registered an Unnatural Death Report. According to the police, prima facie suicide is suspected.

Shiroor left behind a note claiming responsibility for his death and blamed no one, the police added. “He was married twice. His second marriage is under dispute, and a divorce is pending. He was staying alone in the apartment when the incident occurred,” the police said.

The police are in touch with family members and colleagues and are examining his phone to ascertain the reason behind his extreme action.
