Hyderabad: The BRS party on Tuesday suspended ‘with immediate effect’ its MLC K. Kavitha, from the party in light of her ‘anti-party’ activities that are designed to hurt and cause damage to the party.
The decision was taken by BRS president and Kavitha’s father K. Chandrashekar Rao. In a terse but brief news release, the BRS party said Kavitha that party took note of her recent behaviour and her indulging in anti-party activities, which have been taken a serious view by the party leadership.
“The party president K. Chandrashekar Rao has taken the decision to suspend Smt. K. Kavitha from the party with immediate effect,” the news release signed by party general secretaries Soma Bharat Kumar, and T Ravinder Rao said.
Kavitha had been at loggerheads with the party leadership and over the past few months, her relations with her father and former chief minister and BRS president Chandrashekar Rao, and her brother and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao had nose-dived. Her latest outburst on Monday alleging that senior BRS leader and former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao was a beneficiary of the corruption in the Kaleswharam project along with former MP J. Santosh Kumar, appeared to have become the end of a long rope the party gave to Kavitha before axing her from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
