The police on Wednesday sought legal opinion on how to proceed in the case following criticism that it was going soft on the people against whom Ananthu had pointed fingers at.

Meanwhile, the Thampanoor police, probing the suicide case recorded the statement of the doctor, who had treated the youngster for depression. The police had collected details of the doctor, who is based in Ernakulam, from the family members of Ananthu Aji, a native of Thampalakad in Kottayam, who had ended his life on October 9 after scheduling an Instagram post highlighting his plight.

The youth, who was an IT engineer, had revealed that owing to multiple incidents of sexual abuse, he was suffering from OCD. The youngster was found hanging in a city-based hotel here, following which the police have registered a case for unnatural death.
