KVS and NVS recruitment 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important notice addressing widespread queries and complaints from applicants for the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) recruitment 2025. The online application process, which began on 14 November 2025 under Notification 01/2025, has already seen over 11 lakh successful submissions. CBSE stated that the application portal is functioning smoothly, with no technical issues identified during continuous monitoring.Despite this, several candidates have raised concerns through email, Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005 submissions, grievance portals and phone calls to CBSE, KVS and NVS offices. The Board has now issued a detailed clarification to address these repeated concerns.
CBSE clarifies qualification mismatch error on the portal
One of the most common complaints from applicants relates to the portal not allowing them to proceed due to “not meeting the essential qualification criteria”. CBSE explained that qualification requirements for many posts differ between KVS and NVS, even when the post titles appear similar. As a result, multiple qualification options appear in the dropdown menu for each post.CBSE has advised candidates to:
- Carefully read Notification 01/2025 before applying.
- Cross-verify their educational qualifications with those specified for the post.
- Select the correct qualification option exactly as mentioned in the notification.
If a candidate selects the correct, matching qualification, the portal will allow the application to proceed. However, selecting an incorrect or non-matching qualification will automatically block further progress. The Board emphasised that this is not a technical issue, but an eligibility mismatch.
Payment update and refund concerns addressed
CBSE also addressed concerns regarding payment status not being updated on the portal. The Board referred candidates to Instruction No. 16 on page 34 of the notification, which clearly states:If the payment status does not update, candidates must make the payment again. The amount from the previous unsuccessful or failed transaction will be automatically refunded to the candidate’s bank account within one week.CBSE advised applicants not to panic, as refunds are handled systemically.
No relaxation or interpretations of qualifications allowed
Some applicants have sought clarification or leniency regarding the qualification requirements listed in Notification 01/2025. CBSE has stated that:
- The qualifications mentioned in the notification are final.
- No relaxation, interpretation or modification of eligibility criteria will be entertained.
Candidates have been urged to apply only if they fully meet the prescribed qualifications.
