Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has undertaken several infrastructure projects to strengthen connectivity across the country. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve inter-city travel efficiency and boost economic development in the region. One such project is the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.
Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway: Travel time, cost
The 63-km-long Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway project, is expected to reduce travel time to around 30 minutes – down from the current 1.5 hours to 3 hours. The project is being executed at a cost of more than Rs 4200 crore. Designed as a modern, access-controlled corridor, the expressway will ease traffic congestion on existing routes, improve road safety and lower fuel consumption.
Apart from this, the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway will also be connected to the Ganga Expressway. Thus, it will further reduce both the distance and travel time for journeys toward both eastern and western UP.
