Visakhapatnam: A 30-year-old man accused of secretly filming a woman died by suicide in Gajuwaka on Sunday.

Police said that they received a call around 9 am reporting that Gundela Bhaskar Rao was found dead in his room.

According to sources, Bhaskar was accused of filming a woman without consent at her grandmother’s house, where he was a tenant. Following the allegation, local residents confronted him, allegedly assaulted him, and confined him to his room, intending to hand him over to his parents, who were expected to arrive on Sunday morning. However, before their arrival, Bhaskar reportedly died by suicide.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the Gajuwaka circle inspector said the body had been sent for postmortem. A case will be registered based on the findings of the report.
