Mild tremors from an earthquake were felt for a few seconds in parts of Bhadrachalam, Manuguru and elsewhere in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district at 7.26 a.m. on Wednesday (December 4, 2024), leaving the residents in tizzy.
Residents of some areas in Khammam and various other parts of the district also claimed to have experienced mild tremors on Wednesday morning.
The social media platforms were flooded with earthquake-related pictures and videos.

A video footage recorded on CCTV camera at a house in Bhadrachalam showed the screen of the camera shaking even as the residents of the house rushed out on experiencing mild tremors. But no damage was reported from anywhere in the former undivided Khammam district.
In Hanamkonda city, a part of the portico of a house in Indira Nagar colony collapsed reportedly under the impact of tremors. However, no one was injured in the incident.
As soon as we experienced mild tremors this morning, we rushed out of her house, said K. Prakasham, a retired teacher, the owner of the house.
Speaking to The Hindu over phone, he said, “A part of the portico suddenly collapsed due to the impact of mild tremors that lasted for a few seconds this morning. Fortunately, all of us stood outside of our house when the incident occurred, he added.
