Hyderabad: Two minor girls who had gone missing from the city were traced in Andhra Pradesh by the Kukatpally police within 24 hours of receiving complaint, thanks to cooperation of their classmates and the Chirala police in Andhra.

According to Kukatpally inspector M. Muthu, the girls, who had gone to school but had not returned home, were traced at the Suryalanka beach in Chirala at 9 am on Thursday by a four-member police team and the father of one of the girls.

Kukatpally ACP K. Sreenivasa Rao said that at 8 pm on Wednesday, the mother of one of the minors called the police saying her daughter was missing.

The mother told the police that she would pick up her daughter at 5 pm daily. She could not find her daughter at the school on Wednesday. The teachers said the daughter had left earlier.

Police registered a case and began investigations. It later transpired that another classmate was missing, and it was suspected that they had gone together.

in the course of investigations, the police got in touch with the two minors’ classmates, who revealed that the two had been planning to go to Suryalanka beach for the past 15 days. Through Instagram, the cops made one of her friends call one of the girls.

When the minor answered, it was found that the two had gone to the Suryalanka beach in a bus. Police teams headed for the place. Meanwhile, it was found that the two girls had taken a spare dress in their schoolbags.

“When we checked the CCTV, it was found that there is an under-construction building near a temple not very far from the school. In the footage, we saw someone they were talking to. On investigating, it was found that they had asked this person for permission to enter the building saying they needed to urinate. However, the footage showed them coming out in civil clothes,” the ACP said.

“More details about where they stayed and how they went there will be out after the girls are brought back. They are being brought back in a bus, and will most probably reach Hyderabad by 12am. They had gone there for a two-day vacation,” said Inspector Muthu.
