Vijayawada: Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) president Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) on Monday said plans are afoot to set up a cricket academy and centre for excellence at the Mulapadu stadium in Ibrahimpatnam, NTR district. Sivanath said the academy will be inaugurated in 12 months time.

Sivanath, who is the Vijayawada MP, inspected the Dr Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju ACA Stadium, along with other ACA members. Sivanath said the Mangalagiri and Mulapadu stadiums will be completely developed in the next 12 months.

He directed officials concerned to develop all three roads leading to the Mulapadu Stadium. He added that plans for a golf club are also on the anvil and it will create 400 jobs.
