algonda: The developments in Munugode Assembly Constituency following the dissent expressed by its MLA, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, have heated up the political atmosphere in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

Rumours circulating on social media suggest that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy may field Chalamala Krishna Reddy, who had joined the BJP after being denied a Congress ticket in the Munugode bypolls, to counter Rajagopal Reddy. In response, the supporters of the Munugode MLA have been actively countering this publicity.

Yadadri-Bhongir District Congress Committee (DCC) president Andem Sanjeeva Reddy, speaking at a press conference in Sansthan Narayanpur, clarified that Krishna Reddy has no association with the Congress. He alleged that Krishna Reddy was deliberately spreading rumours of having rejoined the party. Sanjeeva Reddy accused Krishna Reddy of betraying the Congress by joining the BJP after the Munugode byelection and of abusing senior Congress leaders K. Jana Reddy and N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.

He further alleged that Krishna Reddy was trying to rejoin the Congress to safeguard his illegal businesses. “We will oppose any move by Krishna Reddy to join the Congress,” Sanjeeva Reddy asserted.
