Hours after the trailer of the Hindi film Sitaare Zameen Par was released online, social media platforms like X are witnessing a campaign against the movie.

Posts under #BoycottSitaareZameenPar have expressed the sentiment that the Bollywood movie must be boycotted because, allegedly, Aamir Khan didn’t condemn Pakistan enough after the recent Indo-Pak tensions hit a crescendo. His production house, however, did salute the Indian armed forces’ Operation Sindoor.

Netizens, however, feel that Aamir Khan doesn’t deserve their patronage. Sitaare Zameen Par, set to be released in theatres on June 20, is headlined and produced by the Dangal actor. Some tweets have cited that Aamir had a meeting with Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan in Istanbul a few years ago. Incidentally, Turkey has backed Pakistan in recent days.

The campaign against Sitaare Zameen Par is likely to fade out.
