Hyderabad: Senior income tax official Battini Suresh was appointed as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Thursday.
He is presently the Chief Commissioner, Hyderabad, and will replace incumbent Morampudi Anil Kumar as Head of the Income Tax Department for the two Telugu states.
Suresh is a native of Guntur and pursued B Tech and MBA before joining the Indian Revenue Service in 1991. He also served in important positions earlier, including Director of Investigation for the Income Tax Department in Surat, Gujarat, and has also focused on capacity building in the department.
