Train to Mizoram: The newly launched Kolkata-Sairang Express train has seen a surge in bookings during the Durga Puja holidays. This year, Durga puja will be celebrated from September 28 to October 2. Flagged off on September 13 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Kolkata-Sairang-Kolkata Express trains run thrice a week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Kolkata-Sairang Train Occupancy
With the beginning of commercial operations on September 18, the Sairang-Kolkata Express train will further strengthen connectivity between the two states (West Bengal and Mizoram) and give a boost to tourism in the Northeast. The Kolkata–Sairang Express is expected to run at full passenger occupancies during the Durga Puja holidays.
As per the IRCTC portal, train number 13125 is already showing waitlisted status across all four classes: Sleeper Class, AC 3 Economy (3E), AC 3 Tier (3A), and AC 2 Tier (2A)—from September 24 onwards.
Sairang-Kolkata Express: Train Number, Route, Distance, Travel Time
The Sairang-Kolkata Express will run as train number 13125/13126. It covers a distance of 1,530 km in 31:15 hrs. The train will run via Naihati, Krishnanagar City, Murshidabad. The train will be maintained and operated by Eastern Railway (ER) zone.
Aizawl-Kolkata Express Train: Stoppages
During its journey between Aizawl and Kolkata, this new train will stop at 24 stations. These are: Naihati, Krishnanagar City, Berhampore Court, Murshidabad, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, New Farakka, Malda Town, Kishanganj, New Coochbehar, Tufanganj, Golakganj, Gauripur, Bilasipara, Abhayapuri Asam, Goalpara Town and Kamakhya railway stations. The train will also make its halt at New Jalpaiguri, Guwahati, Hojai, New Haflong, Badarpur Junction, Hailakandi, and Bairabi.
Sairang-Kolkata Express Train Coach Composition
The Sairang-Kolkata-Sairang Express is composed of 22 coaches: 2 AC Two Tier, 5 AC Three Tier, 2 AC Three-Tier Economy, 7 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class, Brake, 1 Luggage cum Generator Car, and 1 SLRD.
Sairang to Kolkata New Train: Time Table
The train number 13125 Kolkata-Sairang Express train will leave Kolkata at 12:25 hrs to reach Sairang at 19:45 hrs on the next day. On the other hand, train number 13126 Sairang-Kolkata Express will leave at 07:15 hrs to reach West Bengal’s capital at 14:30 hrs on the second day.
