A total of 1,100 dogs in Thanjavur Corporation domain have been vaccinated under the “Mission Rabies” programme.

Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam said that the “Mission Rabies” programme was launched in the civic body domain on September 19 and out of the 1,100 vaccinated canines one-third animals were “pet dogs”.

While directing the pet dog owners to ensure that their pets were vaccinated and obtain a certificate in this regard from the nearby veterinary institutions on or before October 15, she urged those “feeding” the street dogs to provide details about such animals to the “Mission Rabies” programme implementers by dialling 8110070701 or 9489129765 or 9566416831.
