Passengers on Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper to get high-quality mill-made linen items | India News

Howrah–Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train: Passengers travelling on India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, set to operate between Kolkata and Guwahati, will be provided with high-quality mill-made linen items onboard. The semi-high-speed sleeper train service will be operated and maintained by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

In a letter to the NFR, the Railway Board has directed that sufficient quantities of premium mill-made linen be arranged for passengers across all classes to ensure comfort and an enhanced travel experience. The standard linen kit will include a bed sheet, a pillow cushion with cover, a wool-rich premium blanket with a blanket cover and a hand towel.

“Considering the premium nature of the service, it has been decided that high-quality mill-made linen items shall be provided to all classes of passengers in this train to ensure comfort and enhanced travel experience during the journey. The standard linen set will include a bed sheet, pillow cushion with cover, wool-rich premium blanket along with blanket cover, and a hand towel,” the Railway Board said in a letter.

Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper start date

The Railway Board letter further stated that the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is scheduled for the second week of January. “The train shall operate between Kamakhya and Howrah and shall be maintained under the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway.

This is the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to be inaugurated and shall operate as a fully air-conditioned premium service with modern onboard passenger amenities.

The rake composition of this train shall consist of a total of 16 coaches, comprising one First Class AC coach (1A), four Second Class AC coaches (2A), and eleven Third Class AC coaches (3A). The total passenger carrying capacity of the train is approximately 823 passengers across all AC classes,” reads the letter.
