Justice Venkata Narayana Bhatt of the Supreme Court underscored the importance of safeguarding fundamental rights through a robust legal framework, which is essential for enhancing public confidence in the judiciary.
Justice Bhatt inaugurated four newly-constructed court buildings and a judges’ residential complex built at ₹15.18 crore at Palamaner in Chittoor district on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Chittoor Administrative Judge B. Krishna Mohan, High Court Justice T.C.D. Shekhar, District Collector Sumit Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Manikanta Chandolu, and senior officials from key government departments.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Bhatt observed that the protection of fundamental rights is vital for sustaining trust in the legal system. He said that the modernisation of judicial infrastructure is crucial for the facilitation of efficient legal proceedings and enhanced accessibility to justice.
He further reflected on his longstanding association with the Chittoor district, reminiscing about his professional experiences in the area. He said that the newly-established court would create an improved environment for legal practitioners and the public, thereby fostering greater confidence in the judiciary.
Following the inauguration, Justice Bhatt received a ceremonial police salute and engaged with judicial officers and members of the legal community.
