A public hearing, chaired by A. Shajahan, Chairman of the Delimitation Commission and State Election Commissioner, will be held here on Thursday to address objections and receive feedback regarding the draft ward and constituency division proposals for local bodies.

The hearing, the first in a series of Statewide programmes, is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at the Pramadam Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium. It aims at resolving complaints and concerns related to the division and demarcation of wards in local self-government bodies.

Areas to be considered

The session will commence with discussions on the grama panchayats in the Mallapally, Koipram, and Pulikkeezhu blocks and the Thiruvalla municipality. The next round of deliberations, slated to begin at 11 a.m., will cover the local bodies in the Elanthoor, Ranni, and Pandalam blocks, along with the Adoor and Pandalam municipalities. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to the delimitation of wards under the Konni and Pathanamthitta blocks and the Pathanamthitta municipality.
