On Saturday night and Sunday, three columns of the Army, along with teams from the NDRF and SDRF, evacuated approximately 500 people stranded in inundated areas near the Mej river in the Lakheri and Kapren regions of the Bundi district.

Disaster management authorities are still active in the submerged areas of Bundi. Although there has harly been any rain since Saturday morning, and water levels are gradually decreasing, several villages remain submerged in Nainwan, Keshoraipatan, Kapren, and Lakheri, with roads cut off, according to Bundi Collector Akshya Godara.

The heavy rain has caused damage to both ‘kaccha’ and concrete houses in the region, and farmers have suffered significant crop losses. A survey is currently underway to assess the actual damage to property and crops. Godara mentioned that efforts are being made to restore road connectivity and electricity to the villages, and conditions have improved in several areas.

Flood-like conditions, particularly in the Nimodaharji, Dungerya, and Devpura villages in the Digod block of Kota district, improved significantly on Sunday as water levels receded.

At least 64 villages in the Digod block were severely affected by the heavy downpour, but conditions have improved as water levels fell, stated Deepak Mahawar, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Digod.

Currently, 236 residents from the affected villages are being housed in 10 relief camps, which are providing adequate food and necessities, he further said.

Meanwhile, a survey has been commenced to assess the rain-related damage to property and crops in the block, officials mentioned.

On Sunday, four teenagers were swept away in a flooded brook in Urasiman village while they were bathing. Villagers nearby managed to rescue three of the teens; however, one teenager, identified as Aman Kirad , was swept away into deeper waters and subsequently died.

His body was recovered and taken to a mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is underway, according to Circle Inspector Rameshwar Jat of the Dei Police Station.
