Tripura celebrated Ram Navami and Basanti Durga Puja on Sunday with much fanfare and traditional rituals.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha visited the Sri Saibaba temple in Agartala to offer his prayers and greeted the people of the state on the occasion.

Speaking to reporters, CM Saha said, “Though we are political leaders, we are human beings. If we can solve the problems of people, then it will be more satisfactory. So, we are working to fulfill people’s wishes.”

However, the traditional Navami puja at the Durgabari in Agartala got delayed. Deputy Collector K Debbarma said the delay happened while collecting ornaments required for the puja from the administration office.

“We have already submitted a letter to the authorities concerned. As soon as I got the information (of the delay), I personally came to the temple after arranging security (for the safe transit of the ornaments),” said Debbarma after arriving at Durgabari.
