Srisailam temple to remain closed on September 7 for lunar eclipse

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam will remain closed from 1 p.m. on September 7, 2025 to 5 a.m. the next day owing to lunar eclipse. The Sakshi Ganapati, Hatakeswaram, Paladhara – Panchadhara, Sikareswaram and the temples affiliated to Srisailam temple will also remain closed, a release said here on Monday (September 1, 2025).

According to the temple officials, eclipse will be from 9.56 p.m. on September 7 to 1.26 a.m. of September 8. The temple management has decided to stop Sparsha Darshan on September 7 and also all the arjitha sevas, paroksha sevas and Kalyanotsavam. Alankara darshan only will be allowed.

The temple will be cleansed and Samprokshana performed after its opening on September 8. Later, early morning pujas and “Maha Mangala Harathi” will be performed to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba from 7.30 a.m. Alankara darshan will be provided to the devotees till 2.15 p.m. on the day.

Devotees who have booked tickets for Sparsha Darshan and Break darshan online on September 8 can avail the facility from 2.15 p.m. to 4 p.m. Alankara darshan will be provided from 5.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and those who brought tickets for Sparsha Darshan and Break darshan online can avail the same after 9 p.m.
