Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates, Monday, Sept 21, 2026: The GIFT Nifty indicated the benchmark Nifty50 may open on a negative note as investors await the meeting of US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The futures were quoted at 23,344, down 35 points.
Asia-Pacific markets advanced on Monday morning on reports of a positive discussion between the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Vice Premier He Lifeng. They agreed to set up a discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) aimed at reaching a common understanding of goals and threats, according to Bessent.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.38 per cent and 1.32 per cent, respectively.
Last Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.18 per cent, and the S&P 500 rose 0.17 per cent. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.39 per cent higher.
Brent crude prices fell over 1 per cent as traders expect shipment recovery from Saudi Arabia despite ongoing attacks. The September futures were quoted at $101.74, down 1.41 per cent.
Gold and silver futures fell 0.24 per cent and 0.09 per cent, respectively.
