First leg of Budget session ends with IT Bill and Waqf bill reports tabled

A new Bill to reform the income tax laws was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday (February 13, 2025) before Speaker Om Birla adjourned the session on the last day of the first part of the Budget session. The report of the joint committee of Parliament on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was also tabled amidst protests by Opposition parties in both Houses. 

Car drives into crowd in Germany’s Munich; at least 28 injured

Meanwhile, Bavarian Governor Markus Söder said the incident was “suspected to be an attack”. Police said at least 28 people were injured and the suspect is believed to be a 24-year-old Afghan asylum-seeker.
