BHOPAL: Two personnel of the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), including a sub-inspector (SI), were killed and four others injured on Wednesday when the Scorpio vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the eight-lane Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Ratlam district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh, police said.
The vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned, leading to the tragedy.
“A team of Bihar STF from Gaya was travelling to Gandhidham in Gujarat in a Scorpio vehicle when the tragic incident occurred,” said Ratlam District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar.
Sources said the team was en route to Gandhidham to arrest a criminal. The team comprised six STF personnel.
Two members of the team died on the spot, while the four injured were initially taken to Ratlam Medical College Hospital and later referred to a specialized hospital in Indore.
The deceased STF personnel were identified as SI Mukund Murari and Constable Vikash Kumar.
The injured were identified as SI Santosh Kumar and Constables Mithilesh Paswan, Ranjan Kumar, and Jeevdhari Kumar.
