Hyderabad: Two missing siblings were found dead in an open construction pit at a building site in the Uppal Bhagayath area on Wednesday.

The two boys, aged eight and 15 from a colony in Uppal Bhagayath, were reported missing, and their parents approached the police after checking their surroundings and their relatives’ place. The police booked a missing case and started investigating the case, suspecting them to have left the home due to any domestic issues.

Sector SI Koteshwar Rao said we found the body of the eight-year-old boy floating in an open pit of an incomplete construction project on Wednesday morning. The police later found the body of his elder brother at around 11.30 am. The police shifted the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem and were handed over to the parents. The parents took the bodies to their native village for final rites.

The family of the deceased moved to Hyderabad from Jogulamba Gadwal a couple of years ago for work. They initially stayed at Kukatpally and moved to Uppal Bhagayath recently. They were staying in a hut adjacent to the construction site, from where the water pit was located 100 meters away.

The Uppal police altered the missing case to a negligence case and filed a case against the contractor for not securing the uncompleted construction site.
