Two people died, and one was injured in the early hours of Sunday in a road mishap at Noida, the police said.
The accident occurred around 1:14 a.m. at Noida link road near Mayur Vihar when a private four-wheeler moving towards Noida from Delhi hit the central verge, collided with another private four-wheeler, and overturned onto the taxi, a police officer said.
The deceased have been identified as Suman Dhoopra, one of the passengers of the taxi and Arjun Singh Solanki, the driver of the taxi, the officer added.
The police complaint was filed by Aakash, whose car was hit by the accused’s vehicle before it overturned on the taxi.
“According to the complainant, the accident was caused by a black SUV coming from Delhi and moving toward Noida,” the officer said.
“The accused fled the spot and remains at large. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at Mayur Vihar Police Station,” the officer added.
