Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila has slammed the Centre for “making meagre allocations for Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget”.
Taking to the social media platform X, she alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s budget was discriminatory. “The budget is ‘full’ for Bihar, and ‘Nill’ for Andhra Pradesh,” she said.

The State Congress chief wondered why Nitish Kumar’s Bihar, with 12 MPs in the NDA alliance at the Centre, received a grand share in the budget, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who played a bigger role with 21 MPs at the Centre, had been “handed out scraps by Mr. Modi.”
She said Mr. Modi had once again let down the people of Andhra Pradesh. The budget did not have any mention of the Special Category Status (SCS). Except for the loan approved for the Amaravati capital earlier, no new financial allocation had been made, the funds given for implementation of Polavaram project was less than what was expected, and no funds were allocated for development of backward regions in the State.
She said it was ridiculous on the part of the Chief Minister to call it a progressive budget.
