Visakhapatnam: The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) in Visakhapatnam saw a record-breaking surge in visitor numbers and revenue during the Kartik month, further solidifying its status as a popular family-friendly destination.
On November 23, the zoo recorded an impressive 13,650 visitors, generating a total income of Rs 9,61,724. This follows another high turnout just days earlier on November 17, when the zoo welcomed 10,006 visitors and earned Rs 7,64,640.
This significant rise in footfall highlights the zoo’s growing appeal, attracting large crowds eager to enjoy its diverse wildlife and amenities. The influx of visitors during this period also led to noticeable traffic congestion along the routes leading to the zoo.
The zoo management attributed this spike to the favourable weather during Kartik month, along with various promotional activities and events designed to enhance the visitor experience. With its extensive collection of animals and well-maintained facilities, IGZP continues to draw a wide range of visitors, from local residents to tourists.
As the zoo faces large crowds, efforts are underway to manage the increased traffic and ensure a smooth experience for all. The IGZP’s success during Kartik month reflects its growing popularity and its crucial role in promoting wildlife conservation and education.
