The body of a woman aged around 18 was found stuffed in a suitcase that was abandoned near Chandrapura railway bridge on Wednesday.
Passers-by found the suitcase with the woman’s body stuffed inside and alerted the police.
The Chandrapura police shifted the body for post-mortem before registering a case of murder.
A probe revealed that the woman was strangulated to death and her body stuffed in the suitcase, which was thrown from a moving train.
The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
