Virudhunagar Virudhunagar district administration has invited applications from women entrepreneurs for availing themselves of loans under Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Scheme.

In a statement, Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said that bank loans would be provided up to ₹10 lakh with a subsidy of 25% or maximum of ₹2 lakh.

The entrepreneurs would also be given necessary support for business growth, including technical assistance and marketing.

Only women, aged between 18 years and 55 years, are eligible to get loan under the scheme.

Priority would be given to manufacturing of goods from agricultural waste like husk and straw; making pots from coconut pith for growing plants, manufacturing pencil from paper waste, fashion designing, decorative accessories, glass painting and glassware production.

Similarly, priority would be given to jewellery-making using silk thread, setting up childcare centres, homemade food products, running yoga centres, petcare centres, fitness centres, laundry services, bridal makeup studios, mehendi and tattoo studios, ice-cream made from grains, and production of lemon grass oil and palmarosa oil, the statement said.

Interested women can apply for loan online at www.msmeonline.tn.gov.in/TWEES. They need to submit photograph, copy of ration card, Aadhaar card, community certificate, and price quotation, the statement said.
