The Mangalagiri Court sent former MP and YSRCP leader Nandigam Suresh to judicial remand for 14 days on the charges of attempt to murder on Monday (May 19), Thulluru Police informed. Mr. Suresh is accused in 11 other cases and is on bail. The police arrested him again on the fresh case of attempt to murder, taking the total cases to 12 on him.

The Thulluru Police arrested Mr. Suresh on Sunday (May 18) based on a complaint lodged by a victim Isukupalli Krishna, a resident of Uddandarayunipalem in Amaravati capital city. The victim complained that Mr. Suresh, his brother, his wife along with five more people manhandled him and conspired to kill him, on May 17, 2025. Mr. Krishna said that the former MP along with his followers took the victim to the house of accused from a road and then hit him for the second time.

Knowing these developments, the villagers visited the farmhouse of the former MP, where Mr. Krishna was taken, informed Thullur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Takkellapati Murali Krishna. The SDPO further explained that the victim was then shifted to AIMS Mangalagiri for treatment, from where he lodged a complaint. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested former MP. Mr. Murali Krishna said that the police intercepted the accused while he was planning to escape to Vizag, and produced him in the court.

The SDPO informed that, following the judicial remand, the police have been filing another petition in the court urging to cancel the bail issued to the same accused in previous pending criminal cases. He said that Mr. Suresh indulged in a total of 12 cases, including the latest reported now. He added that the police would also arrest the rest of the accused in this murder attempt case, very shortly.
